VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) contains Liraglutide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetics. VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus which helps your body to reduce high blood sugar levels and slows food passage through your stomach which also prevents heart disease. VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) is used alone when your blood sugar is not properly controlled by diet, exercise, and other oral antidiabetic medicines such metformin, pioglitazone, sulfonylurea (such as glimepiride, glipizide) sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i)) such as (empagliflozin, dapagliflozin) and/or insulin. Type 2 Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs due high level of sugar in the blood which is generally characterized by symptoms such as increased thirst, frequent urination, increased hunger, unintended weight loss, weakness and blurred vision.

VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) works by helping the pancreas to release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high which is then moved into body tissue from the blood where it is used for energy thus resulting in the reduction of blood sugar level which also slows the emptying of the stomach resulting in decrease of appetite thereby preventing weight gain.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Use VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) as advised by your doctor. Do not inject it into a vein or muscle and inject VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) subcutaneously (under the skin) in front of your thighs, waist or upper arm. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.

Stop using VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Signs of low blood sugar such as cold sweat, cool pale skin, headache, fast heartbeat, nausea, feeling very hungry, changes in vision, feeling sleepy, feeling weak, nervous, anxious, confused, difficulty concentrating, shaking (tremor).
Signs of severe form of anaphylactic reaction (allergic reaction) such as breathing problems, swelling of throat and face, fast heartbeat, etc.
Signs of bowel obstruction (severe form of constipation) such as stomachache, bloating, and vomiting.
Signs of pancreatitis (serious life-threatening condition that occurs due to inflammation of the pancreas) such as severe and persistent pain in the abdomen (stomach area), nausea and vomiting.
